• Asymmetry & Symmetry This show is called "Symmetry and Asymmetry". The feature guest is Ofer Mandelboim, the Edward Crown Professor of General and Tumor Immunology at Hebrew University and an expert on natural killer (NK) cells and immunologic receptors. He works in the advanced field of developing personalized treatments for cancer with his deep understanding of how the immune system works on the molecular level and how NK cells can be employed to recognize and combat cancer using microRNA. If there is an early warning of danger, NK cells form large, stable, symmetrical synapses. If inhibited, asymmetrical synapses are favored. NK cells can read the health of other cells by recognizing the balance between activating and inhibitory agents. The theory of nuclear deterrence during the Cold War was based on a similar balance. However, in the contemporary age of irregular and asymmetrical warfare, the activating and inhibitory balances are out of whack. The stronger the party, the more inhibited in employing violence. The weaker the party, the more ready to sacrifice its young as martyrs for a cause. We explore the age of modern asymmetrical warfare.

 • Hi all! While reflecting on my mothers passing from cancer, I wrote the song "Stay" 2 weeks ago. It recounts the last hour or so I spent with her, playing music on my grandfathers guitar. For Mother's Day, please spread this video and urge your mothers and your friends to urge their mothers to get regular check-ups. My mom was afraid to get checked out of fear they would find something. There are so many other women just like that. Get the card and flowers for your mom today, but also talk with her. I wish I did. Also, please join this group on Facebook for the story behind the music: www.facebook.com God bless! ~Brett STAY Will you be here tomorrow Will you make just one more day I would beg, steal, or borrow To make this dark cloud fade away, yea. Will you stay Its getting late now, it wont be long Will you stay Stay awake for one more song Will you stay When the morning comes yea youll be gone And Ill remember you. If there was one thing I could give you Tell me what would it be Just one more day to live To live like you were young and freeagain Will you stay Its getting late now, it wont be long Will you stay Stay awake for one more song Will you stay When the morning comes yea youll be gone And Ill remember youuntil the day I go there too. Step outside, come with me Take my hand, Ill calm the sea Dont look down, just look at me. look at me. look at me.. Will you stay Its getting late now, it wont be long Will you stay Stay awake for one more song Will you stay When ...

Dr. Mendley talks about Ethan's condition and why he needed the transplant, as well as the surgical complexities involved when doctors transplant an adult kidney into a pediatric patient.
